Franklin ave open streets: The Trifecta of natural hair

  • Franklin Avenue Open Streets Brooklyn, New York, 11238 United States (map)

On Saturday, June 6, Brooklyn’s natural hair community takes over Franklin Avenue for a full day of culture, creativity, music, and community connection.

This special Open Streets activation brings together three powerhouse platforms — LOCnificent, International I Love Braids Day, and Loc Fest — for a vibrant celebration of locs, braids, natural hair, and Black cultural expression in the heart of Crown Heights.

Expect live DJs, hair showcases, live styling demonstrations, vendors, giveaways, community conversations, and high-energy moments throughout the day as Franklin Ave transforms into a destination for culture and connection.

LOCnificent’s curated showcase will spotlight elevated loc and natural hair artistry inspired by Brooklyn summer energy, individuality, and creative self-expression — bringing together stylists, models, and visual storytelling in true LOCnificent fashion.

Whether you’re pulling up to shop, network, vibe, or simply celebrate the beauty of our community, this is more than an event — it’s a cultural experience rooted in joy, representation, and togetherness.
